Oral Maxillofacial surgeons are dually qualified doctors in medicine and dentistry.
Oral Maxillofacial surgeons specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the mouth, jaws, face and neck.
The Department Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is also known as Maxillofacial Unit (MFU).
OMFS work in close collaboration with other head and neck specialities including orthodontists, restorative dentists, oncologists, speech and language therapy, neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons and ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeons.
