How we help
We assess and treat babies, children and young people with many different conditions. We support the medical and surgical specialties within the Alex including orthopaedics, neurology, rheumatology, oncology and respiratory medicine.
We have a team of physiotherapists with specialist staff working in the areas of Cystic Fibrosis, neonates, orthopaedics and chronic pain.
We are open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with an extended service for paediatric inpatients at the weekend.
We offer satellite clinics for children (age 5 to 15 years) with musculoskeletal conditions at the Princess Royal Hospital on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We are also able to offer hydrotherapy as part of some treatment plans at the Princess Royal Hospital.
We also run drop-in clinics in the community for babies and pre-school children who live in the Brighton and Hove area. In these clinics we triage those with physiotherapy needs and help sign post to other services if needed. More information about this can be found by speaking to your health visitor or contacting the department.
Referrals are accepted via email or letter from consultants, GPs and health visitors.
