University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (‘the Trust’) is today, Monday 17 July 2023, announcing the start of early market engagement in preparation for our electronic patient records (‘EPR’) solution procurement.
Deployment of a modular EPR solution will be key to enable delivery of the Trust’s Patient First strategic priorities as well as ensuring compliance with NHS England (‘NHSE’) Minimum Digital Foundations capabilities as part of the national frontline digitisation programme.
Patient First is the Trust’s approach to transforming the hospital services for the better, focusing on continuous improvement, ensuring frontline staff have the freedom to identify opportunities for positive, sustainable change, and are equipped with the skills to make those improvements happen.
The Trust’s objective is to implement a modular EPR that will integrate with existing applications to handle every aspect of patient care, safety, and flow, including but not limited to:
- a single clinical portal
- e-noting
- e-observations
- care planning
- clinical collaboration
- orders and results
- patient administration
- contact management
- remote monitoring.
Within the Sussex Integrated Care System, the Trust is the single largest provider of acute health services, operating multiple hospital sites as well as providing Tertiary, Trauma and Radiotherapy services across the county. The Trust runs seven hospital sites, and has approximately 20,000 staff.
How to get involved
To officially mark the start of this early market engagement phase, a webinar will be held on Wednesday 19 July 2023 at 16:00 British Summer Time.
To express an interest in attending the webinar, please email [email protected] and include “EPR SUPPLIER MEETING” in the subject field.
During this webinar, the Trust will share its latest thinking on the preferred approach and option for its EPR solution procurement, and the anticipated procurement timetable.
Providers of modular EPR solutions which are available through either the NHS London Procurement Partnership Clinical Digital Solutions framework, or NHSE’s Health Systems Support framework, are invited to register to attend this webinar, and will have the opportunity to ask questions of the Trust.
This webinar is the first in what’s anticipated to be a series of early market engagement sessions, which will be used to support the Trust as it iteratively develops its business case, procurement approach and requirements for the modular EPR solution. A recording of the webinar will be published shortly after.
The Trust has partnered with Private Public Ltd (‘PPL’) and CURSHAW to support the development of the EPR solution business case, the early market engagement, and the procurement.
