Request:
Can I please request details of estates and facilities incidents reported to the Health and Safety Executive via the RIDDOR reporting system in 2022-2023.
The total number for each trust was reported in the NHS estates returns information collection data (ERIC) for 22-23. This shows the number of RIDDOR incidents classified as having an “estates and facilities cause” in the reporting system.
Can the trust please share the following details for each estates and facilities RIDDOR incident reported in 22-23:
- The month the incident occurred
- A summary of what happened during the incident
- Details of the estates and facilities failure behind the incident
- Details of the resulting death or injury
- Whether it was a member of the public or workforce who suffered death or injury
The number of incidents shared should add up to the trust number of ‘estates and facilities RIDDOR incidents’ reported in the 22-23 ERIC data. I have attached a spreadsheet with this data.
Information disclosed:
In auditing all available data in order to compile the information requested it has come to light that the ERIC return for this period was not accurate. For the financial year 2022/23, the Trust made 27 formal RIDDOR returns across all services, with only 8 of these found to be estates and facilities related. We have therefore provided anonymised information relevant to these 8 incidents below.
